Socrates saw himself as a “midwife to understanding.” He believed that one could help people understand, but that could not make people understand – just as a midwife delivers, but does not give birth to the child.

Hence it is often important to ask pivotal question than to tell instructions. Asking effective questions is one of the most powerful techniques of coaching. A coaching session also has to be structured. The GROW (Goal, Reality, Options, Wrap-Up) model is one of the most common coaching tools widely used. It is a simple 4 step structure for coaching session.
